OLEASUD

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The olive growing business is currently undergoing expansion, mainly as a result of the healthy image associated with olive oil. Given the increase in international competition, it is becoming important to realign the markets in accordance with the European and international environment. This will involve the introduction of new technologies, organisational changes and new job profiles. To this end, the project "Oleasud" proposes to make a decisive impact on the training of employees in the oil and olive-growing sectors in order to encourage high-quality production which complies with agricultural and environmental regulations. The intention is to produce continuing vocational training modules, developed using innovative methods for analysing training requirements, with the aim of assisting workers to adapt to changes by focusing on qualifications which are more conducive to movement within or outside the company.

ACTIVITIES
The fourteen project partners, from four different countries, will bring together vocational training bodies from the agricultural sectors, research bodies and technology transfer organisations, agricultural businesses and their trade unions. The training modules and tools which will be produced will be suitable for training employees from the Mediterranean region, but also from Central and Northern Europe, focusing mainly on methods for the evaluation of product quality by consumers.

PRODUCTS
Development and production of continuing vocational training modules which will contribute to the development of core skills and which are based on innovative methods of analysing training requirements.
