The action plans in areas characterised by seismic and hydrogeological risk and their result on the urbanistic planning

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Natural catastrophes such as earthquakes, floods or landslides can have a disastrous socio-economic impact on urban communities. A sound knowledge of the problems linked with the damage caused by floods or an earthquake makes it possible to anticipate the effects which they are likely to have, which means that fire service operations can draw up a plan of action in advance. The project proposes to establish a set of rules which must be followed in the event of a natural catastrophe, and a training programme. The training programme will be aimed at young graduates, trainers, employees of the public services and planners working in towns or high-risk areas.

ACTIVITIES
A stocktake will be carried out in order to determine what already exists in each country in the way of crisis situation administration and which requirements need to be satisfied (Delphi method). A technical questionnaire will be designed. Meetings with national and international partners will allow guidelines for the training programme project to be defined and verified. The project will be evaluated in a series of steps using several different evaluation techniques.

PRODUCTS
- A training programme designed to create new professional profiles and to update the skills of the people already active or involved directly or indirectly in this sector.
- The publication of a document for autonomous or semi-autonomous training.
- The dissemination of the results (conferences, brochures).
