Objective
OBJECTIVES
Community or local development programmes are currently implemented on an ad hoc, reactive basis, with little understanding of the relationship between the principles of community development, the specific nature of the parameters which define a peripheral economy, or of other important factors. The objectives of this project are to provide training in practical and theoretical aspects of managing and implementing community development programmes within peripheral regions - i.e. Objective 1, 5b and 6 - including research methods, language issues, environmental issues, social policy, European institutions etc.
ACTIVITIES
The project will develop on-line distance training modules. A request for Commission subsidisation of a transnational exchange programme will be included in this training programme. It will make use of data collected under the EUROMOSAIC project - a project dealing with the situation regarding the less used languages in the EU, of other, local research into implementation activities, and of the technology developed by the REM Project (DG XIII Telematics programme).
