Innovative training system in the retailing sector - development of training modules with the use of new technologies for shop manager/owners

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The retail sector is facing increasing competitiveness and radical changes in consumer and distribution habits. It is therefore important for owners and managers of retail businesses to diversify their skills. The project is therefore aimed at producing innovative distance (continuing) training programmes for owners and managers of retail businesses with a view to enabling them to respond effectively to customer requirements and thus to enhance the competitiveness of their business.

ACTIVITIES
The partnership will bring together training centres and representatives from the retail sector. The training activities to be incorporated in the programme will be determined in accordance with the skills judged to be the most relevant by the various project partners from this sector. By using new technologies to produce the training modules it will be possible to create an innovative training programme. With increased co-operation between the project partners, the deficiencies of the training will be remedied and the programme will be adapted to the specific requirements of each country. By creating an electronic training journal and modules for self-training and distance training, the partners hope to respond to the needs of the workers in this sector who are unable to participate in a training course outside the workplace.

PRODUCTS
The project will result in the production of a distance and self-training programme for owners and managers of retail businesses by using new information and training technologies.
