Creation of electronic training material for the on-the-job training of hotel personnel in energy management

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The hotel business is a major energy consumer. The cost of this energy not only affects the budget of the hotel business but also represents a significant part of its operating costs. In parallel, a reduction in energy consumption is directly linked with environmental protection. The objective of this project is to provide personnel in the hotel business (managers, technical staff) with the knowledge and tools necessary for reducing energy consumption, mainly by managing their consumption more effectively.

ACTIVITIES
In order to achieve this objective, the intention of the project is to study the training requirements of the target groups in three countries of the EU, then to produce training software. This software will be tested and its effectiveness evaluated so that it can be improved if necessary. The final result will be disseminated at a European level.

PRODUCTS
- A study of training requirements with regard to reducing energy consumption.
- Training software dealing with how to reduce energy consumption, designed for employees in the hotel business, translated into four Community languages.
- An educational brochure dealing with how to reduce energy consumption.
