Training needs and the upgrading of skills in the health care sector

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The health sector is a fast-developing one in Europe. The partners of this project aim to analyse needs in terms of training and new qualifications for employees in the sector to help social partners develop and negotiate training policies which are relevant in the face of technological change, reorganisation of work and changes in the job market within the sector. The partnership will also work to make access to training easier for traditionally disadvantaged groups such as women, part-time workers and the low-paid.

ACTIVITIES
The partners will first of all produce a comparative analysis of the health services in their respective countries, looking at changes and investigating existing training. On the basis of this first phase, they will evaluate needs and draw up training priorities. A transferable method for evaluating how suitable the training on offer is to the priorities of health care organisations will then be developed, to enable the social partners to strengthen this appropriateness through social dialogue.

PRODUCTS
Development of a method of evaluating training needs and production of guides and training materials to help social partners to define relevant professional training policies.
