Evaluation of competencies and training in areas for reconversion

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The coal fields of the EU are undergoing great changes at the moment. The aim is to allow individuals, companies and other players in a coal field who are subject to industrial change to assess themselves, put themselves in a better position in the international market and assess their individual or collective needs in terms of qualifications and skills. A realistic forecast will enable appropriate work to be carried out and enable the development of vocational training which responds to the needs identified by means of a previously developed concept.

ACTIVITIES
A software programme designed to build skills configurations for a community will analyse the skills required in SMEs in one or two key sectors. It will start from a target group of people working in changing mines. The GINGO software will build the "skills trees" for these staff, on the basis of which suitable training provision will be produced. This will be assessed and distributed throughout the coal industry sector.

PRODUCTS
The efficiency of the skill tree concept will be analysed. Its aim will be to promote the creativity of various players in a work pool and allow a satisfactory response to be provided in the area of training with respect to the needs identified in the various companies. The skills transfer methods used on each site undergoing reconversion will be compared in relation with the local training system.
