Training Place: Building Site - Vocational training in portions

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Considering the importance of reintegrating disadvantaged target groups into the labour market, the combination of employment with a modular diploma qualification is becoming increasingly significant. This approach seems to be more appropriate to the needs of this target group and is expressed in the framework of this project by the development of modular, flexible curricula based on managerial training plans better suited to the specific needs of the disadvantaged. The partners wish to achieve a recognised qualification over a three-year period in the framework of jobs on large construction sites.

ACTIVITIES
The partners in the project intend to develop modular curricula for the joinery and building trades. They will be combined with training trainers in this field in the form of transnational seminars, with training of master craft workers carrying out training at the workplace and with training social development assistants who will supervise the development of the people concerned. The project is completed by taking into account institutional organisations which will ensure that the qualification is recognised in their country and the results distributed.

PRODUCTS
- Modular training for disadvantaged young people in the construction sector combined with a job staggered over three years.
- Training of trainers for support staff (craftsmen, social development assistants).
- Certification of the qualifying training in the various countries.
