Objective
OBJECTIVES
In the fight against the currently high level of unemployment in Europe, the various Member States of the Union are trying to exploit all the potential job pools. In this context the partners in this project recommend redirecting maritime jobs towards fish farming. This method of farming sea products, however, requires specialist training. This project has therefore set as its objective the idea of focusing open and distance learning on the unemployed or those trying to retrain and who live in the rural coastal areas of Europe, where small-scale fish-farming may be a profitable economic activity.
ACTIVITIES
The partnership starts by identifying the qualifications needed for this work and the training requirements. It will then collect training aids which already exist and any data relevant to the sector. The development of training aids can then begin. Manuals and guides are produced along with video material illustrating all the fish-farming methods and techniques. Training is then tested and assessed in three Member States and trainer tutors are trained.
PRODUCTS
Setting up distance training for training "marine farmers" or fish farming professionals to enable them to set up their own companies (manuals, guides, videos).
