Community based non-formal guidance for disadvantaged young people

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Faced with the socio-economic changes and changes in the organisation of labour, there is a real danger that disadvantaged young people will become increasingly marginalised. It is therefore becoming a matter of urgency that an advisory system is set up in their own field so as to reintegrate them into the official vocational education system. The objective of this project is to develop, within local communities, an unofficial advisory system for disadvantaged young people, but also to involve famous adults, agencies and organisations within these young people's education and advisory systems.

ACTIVITIES
Five Member States will be jointly involved in setting up this project. It will be based on the exchange of ideas, good practices, an analysis of needs and a training and assessment method. Planning meetings will be organised nationally and transnationally to define a common strategy and develop a transferable advisory system in the various partner countries. Famous adults, agencies and organisations will be trained in education and careers guidance so that they are able to help these young people. The project will set up an apprenticeship system targeting groups of people. Finally, the effectiveness of the method will be assessed and amended where necessary.
