Works around town: European resources

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The objective of this project is to improve the quality of careers advice and initial and continuing vocational training with the aim of offering young people and adults the opportunity of acquiring the necessary vocational skills to meet the new job opportunities in an urban context.

ACTIVITIES
The project will firstly carry out an analysis of the local labour market to identify new areas of employment. After identifying the needs in this area, it will then define new job descriptions as well as the content and methods of a training course for trainers and advisors in these areas. Having tested and assessed the project, a guide will be produced incorporating the main results.

PRODUCTS
- A manual giving advice on the new areas of employment.
- A training course for trainers and advisors on the new areas of employment in an urban context.
- A database facilitating European mobility and on-and-off-the-job training of young people.
- Creation of a computer network of the trade union advice centres and other organisations concerned.
