Objective
OBJECTIVES
The project intends to reduce the cultural marginalisation and social exclusion of minors who entered working life pre-maturely. To do this, it will produce information which will be used to develop different types of action to counter the social and cultural exclusion of these minors. These measures should in fact be implemented in close co-operation with the educational system, families and young people. The project will also develop methods and material on a transnational basis, so as to raise common awareness and improve the specific skills of teachers, trade union representatives, managers and careers advisors in managing this type of intervention.
ACTIVITIES
The intention of the project is to draw up research hypotheses (e.g. the work of children as a reason for social exclusion) which will be common to the transnational team. These hypotheses will be based on the analysis of surveys and data from various national contexts. The national and regional statistics on the work of children and on academic failure will then be compared. National legislation directly associated with this subject will also be considered. Hypotheses will be examined in the field (only in Italy), as will the impact of the material and information and the updating methods.
PRODUCTS
- The typological analysis of the work of children as a factor of exclusion from the school system.
- Material for supporting measures for preventing the social and cultural exclusion of minors working on an irregular basis.
