Vocational training to develop SMEs

Objective

OBJECTIVES
It is very difficult technically and financially for SMEs to organise continuing training programmes. These enterprises are subject to increasing competition and feel the need to improve adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to provide feedback and to train their staff. This is why the partners in this project intend to give technical support to entrepreneurs and develop innovative tools which will make it easier to diagnose the needs for qualification and training and to define the steps to be taken. The partnership will also endeavour to set up methods, contents and training tools suited to those working in the SMEs.

ACTIVITIES
The partners start by conducting a survey and case studies among a sample of SMEs in order to define the needs of company directors and employees for continuing training. They then develop a set of tools, amongst which is a tool which helps diagnose and define appropriate training measures for entrepreneurs and training tools for employees. Training methods and content are drawn up taking into account the constraints inherent in the organisation of an SME.

PRODUCTS
- Identification of key elements for developing continuing training in SMEs and the design of technical aids for carrying out training measures (tool for diagnosing and defining appropriate training measures for entrepreneurs and training tools for employees).
- Mounting national and transnational projects for developing continuing training within SMEs.
