Stepping out

Objective

OBJECTIVES
So far there is no employer/trade union - local authority/municipal network committed to promoting vocational training and occupational opportunities for manual workers. The objective of this project is to further develop and disseminate a programme for manual workers which has already been developed by the North West Provincial Council. The project will develop a self-learning set, distance learning modules which promote delivery methods appropriate to the needs of manual workers.

ACTIVITIES
Initially, the partners will rewrite and further develop self-learning tools which will be evaluated on target groups. Material for training trainers on how to use the new training tools will also be developed. Once the training modules for manual workers have undergone a final evaluation, self-learning and distance learning materials will be disseminated over a wide area and transferred through social partner networks. Multimedia materials will be produced to complement written training materials.

PRODUCTS
- A set of written materials to be used transnationally by manual workers in self-learning modules.
- Multimedia materials which complement and reinforce the written materials.
- A European-wide network of social partners dedicated to developing continuing vocational training programmes for manual workers.
