Objective
OBJECTIVES
The main aspects of the general context of this project are the rapid technological developments in training delivery methods and the natural historical trading links between the regions represented within this partnership - The Republic of Ireland, Northern England and Sweden - which have been further strengthened by Sweden's accession to the EU. The project will stimulate co-operation between regions of the northern periphery of the EU. It will address the gaps in the range of vocational training materials available for learning Swedish in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, and for learning specialist business and technical English in Sweden. It will strengthen transnational and regional links between training providers, universities, chambers of commerce, SMEs and other business organisations.
ACTIVITIES
The project will analyse training materials needs following language audits in 70-100 enterprises across three Member States. It will develop documents, video and audio cassettes for learning English and Swedish. Then it will produce an interactive CD-ROM based on the video and audio material and a computer-assisted language teaching programme. This software will be available on the Internet.
