Implementation of a continuing training module for social workers and other players to integrate disabled people

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The insertion of disabled people is a constantly evolving process that requires a regular update of working tools and methods, and the training of staff to assist these people. With its European partners, the promoter of this project detected an insufficient supply of continuing training for people working in the social sector. The aim of the project is, therefore, to make proposals for continuing training in line with user needs, to make it possible to master educational and psycho-social tools, and encourage the ability to work out varied and individual solutions in a multidisciplinary spirit.

ACTIVITIES
An in-depth analysis of continuing training needs and motives will be carried out by the various partners. With the aid of the transnational partnership, training modules will be prepared and assessed, leading to the gradual setting-up of an organised unit capable of offering an innovative continuing training concept to a number of different people involved in the integration of disabled people. The aim of such a training structure will be to anticipate training and qualification needs, guarantee flexible and open systems and provide short and practical training courses, with, eventually, official recognition by the public sector.

PRODUCTS
Creation of training modules and/or curricula; technical and psycho-educational tools; publication of a guide of good practices covering methodology, techniques, form, content and routes of continuing training in social work; publication of a regular contact bulletin within the network. The project will lead to the implementation of a modular concept capable of meeting training demand from fields of social work other than that of mental disabilities and also suitable for initial training.
