Adaption of information technology in guidance

Objective

OBJECTIVES
The growing opportunities for people to move within the EU is leading to demands for occupational guidance, suitable training, and certification systems. The distribution of an increasing amount of information relative to this area by the Internet has already made it possible to meet some of these demands. The objective of the project is to expand this network to allow workers to move freely throughout the EU, using leading information technologies which facilitate access to these occupational guidance centres, both in respect of training and job opportunities. A database containing all relevant information will be set up which will be easy to access and use.

ACTIVITIES
The project aims to set up a single database combining all the databases currently available. A server with a common entry and common menus will be installed on the Internet. Video conferences will be developed for counselling personnel. Common training conferences will be arranged so that the project can be developed as efficiently as possible. Linguistic, intercultural and technology transfer courses will also be organised.

PRODUCTS
- An electronic network of educational databases including an information network on available training and job opportunities throughout Europe.
- Training modules for occupational guidance counsellors.
