Objective
OBJECTIVES
The large construction projects in Greece have an impact on the economy and on society, and primarily create jobs. The available human resources, however, must be sufficiently qualified to meet the demand. The objective of the project is to set up a training module aimed at managers responsible for promoting local and regional jobs, but particularly for training and placing local employees on the large construction sites.
ACTIVITIES
To begin with, the project selects standard construction projects which will be examined on the basis of the following criteria: volume, length, the period of time given before work starts, and the jobs created. Other criteria will then be defined for selecting the groups which are to benefit. Based on the results obtained during the two previous stages, a method will be developed for identifying the needs which the training must meet.
PRODUCTS
- A training module (books, data, video).
- The introduction of new, innovative training methods within the training systems which already exist.
- The improvement in quality of the skills of the senior trainers involved in local and regional development.
