Advanced hybrid theranostic nanoplatforms for an active drug delivery in the cancer treatment

Project description

Research consortium for the development of therapeutic and diagnostic nanostructures

Combination therapy in cancer, based on the simultaneous administration of several pharmacological agents with different modes of action using nanocarriers for the delivery, represents an effective treatment strategy. The nanostructured materials enable efficient drug delivery and high sensitivity in diagnostics. The EU-funded NANO4TARMED project will help establish a consortium of three research institutions in Czechia, Italy and Ireland for the creation of a scientific cluster promoting research and development through a set of workshops, seminars and extensive exchange of early-stage researchers. The consortium will aim to develop functional 3D dual-modality nanostructures for targeted therapeutic drug delivery and cell imaging.
