Project description
New energy standards make our homes more efficient
Buildings are central to the EU’s energy efficiency policy as they account for nearly 40 % of final energy consumption. An EU-wide and sustained increase in deep renovations is therefore necessary. With this in mind, the EU-funded EUROPA project will develop a set of technical specifications, procedures and standard contractual arrangements to ensure guaranteed energy savings from the deep renovation of residential buildings. Specifically, it will develop an Energy Efficiency Subscription that will consider standards for products and for the level of expertise of craftsmen and professionals. The set of standards will be based on a common format. To disseminate information and promote implementation across Europe, the project will train at least 20 organisations.
