Objective
Computers, networks and training software can be used as complementary parts of traditional forms of education and training. They provide enhanced capabilities for the support of training, whilst developing the active and creative participation of trainees.
The aim of this project is to develop an advanced training environment for food industries. Delta has an enhanced and expanded telecommunication network based on leased lines. The core of the project will be the piloting of this network for vocational training purposes by creating, equipping and installing suitable classrooms for the organisation of tele-education and tele-training courses at the partners' sites. The training will be complemented by suitable CBT educational programmes and other advanced educational techniques such as video conferences, databases, electronic libraries, e-mail facilities and electronically delivered educational material.
Impact
It is expected that the project will create a trans-European training environment through open interaction with every site participating in it. The establishment and successful operation of this project will promote the expansion of similar links between business and tele-educational units and other relevant companies.
