Objective
A large number of forecast studies emphasise that whilst the management, protection and maintenance of the environment are becoming a growing source of employment in Europe, appropriate training is not available. Furthermore, there are many differences in the contents of botany, climatology, ecological-diversity and forestry courses/training programmes, which, in turn, do not facilitate student mobility.
The partners' objective is to identify differences and similarities in environmental expertise among European countries and then define a common core of essential subjects to guarantee pan-European mobility of instructors and technicians. In addition, they will create distance- learning tools for the environmental and forestry sectors. These tools will be made available on telematics systems, diskettes and the Internet.
Impact
Creation of a common curriculum for environmental training to facilitate the pan-European mobility of students, instructors and technicians in this sector. Greater accessibility to such training through the availability of distance-learning tools.
