Objective
The project partners are particularly concerned about the decline of the sheep-rearing sector and its falling productivity. They therefore propose to promote and dynamise this area by identifying a production model suited to the twenty-first century and providing training that is currently unavailable in Europe.
The partners have each created three pilot training centres for sheep-breeders. They will work together to design a pilot production system for joint use by the four partner Member States. The aim of this system will be to improve product quality, increase rearing productivity, introduce new technologies and facilitate their application. The system will be environmentally-friendly in design. The training programme will comprise a theoretical section and on-site practical training.
Impact
Revitalisation of the sheep-dairy sector and development of associated agri-food sector activities through the design of a training programme dealing with a new business/ecology-conscious production system.
