Objective
Structural funds are only partially used in European Union member states. One of the reasons for this is the lack of skills in the local development field. This project aims to disseminate local development culture by creating a network of local development agencies for the discussion and exchange of ideas and information on successful projects; and by training people working in the development agencies that join the network. Each partner organisation will commit itself to enlarging the network in its own country.
The main expected product is a publication about local development strategies and methods, and about the impact of training and networking in different areas. Short courses and distance training materials for 'European Agents / Local Developers' will be produced, together with supports such as project management guidance, network communication tools, etc.
Impact
European Agents / Local Developers, once operational, will be able to provide companies and public institutions with greater expertise for local development.
