Objective
The objective of this project is to promote vocational education, taking into account the results of programmes regarding research and technological development in the field of biotechnology. Based on needs analyses in the regions of the partners involved, the course content will comprise the subject areas of the basic principles of bio-process engineering, measuring and control technology for bio-processes and bio-sensor engineering.
The courses developed for these areas will comprise both a theoretical and a practical section. The course materials are to be produced in German, English and Swedish. It is also planned to produce videos and CAL software on diskette. The target group of the further-training project consists of management personnel and engineers in companies, especially SMEs, operating in the field of biotechnology.
Impact
The project has been designed in a logical and consistent manner, thus facilitating its successful implementation. The project is of great interest to a large number of medium-sized companies operating in the biotechnology sector and will strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs through the additional qualification employees are expected to obtain.
