Objective
The European food and drink industry is currently experiencing significant problems due to the decline of their products' competitiveness on the global market. One of the main problems SMEs in this sector are facing is the application of standardisation requirements with respect to quality assurance.
The objective of this project is to provide support to drink industry SMEs through the production of educational material and the development of a new approach for on-going recognition of the qualifications and skills acquired. A multimedia software package will be produced for use in a distance training environment. An international liaison office will be in charge of the training trials and the continuous assessment of qualification requirements and quality assurance needs in the sector.
Impact
It is expected that this project will lead to the creation of an international mechanism for the recognition of qualifications, as well as the development of a new structure which will can provide a single source of information on standardisation and training.
