Training modules in road transport

Objective

This project will develop work-based learning (WBL) for the road transport sector. The modules will be designed to support: employees in the transport sector; owners/managers of transport companies; trainers with experience in the transport field; newcomers to the sector; and human resource managers. The overall aim is to improve and extend access to training, assessment and accreditation for all employees, but especially employees with little or no qualifications. The WBL delivery platform will be produced on two formats:
- supported application and assessment with group or personal tutors;
- and telematically supported application and assessment through designated workplace and learning centres.

The project will also produce an analysis of SME employer and employee training needs, personal learning records for learners, a user guide and a final report with case studies.

Impact
This project could help the European transport sector face the transition to a single currency and develop integrated activities at EU level.
