Training of teleworkers in SMEs

Objective

In the coming five to ten years, communication and information technologies will make it possible to store and transmit information with no restriction posed by volume, space or time. Work organisation will be transformed, particularly by telework. Whilst this type of work is already practised by approximately one million companies, these are mainly large companies. The aim of this project is to facilitate the introduction of teleworking into SMEs with a view to improving their competitiveness. This requires a new style of company management and appropriate training for workers and managers. The partners propose to:
- diagnose the organisational change required by SMEs to facilitate the introduction of teleworking;
- diagnose the training needs of SME staff to prepare them for the advent of teleworking;
- create training modules and a training programme for future SME teleworkers on the basis of previous needs-analysis.

The (PEF-TELEYME) training programme will be tested by implementing teleworking in an SME.

Impact
Increasing the competitiveness of SMEs by improving their access to new technologies and associated developments in work organisation (teleworking).
