Objective
To facilitate the social and occupational re-integration of ex-addicts, a high-risk group in terms of social isolation, the "Hombre Madrid" project intends to design a specific training programme to run parallel with therapy. Given the failure of traditional educational methods, the partners propose to design and test a basic and vocational training programme with appropriate content for this target group. They will also develop teaching methods which, in combination with therapy, will facilitate the learning process.
The aim of the project is to train groups of professionals involved in co-ordinating various therapeutic and educational initiatives. It will involve a partnership between two non-government organisations specialised in re-training and re-integrating drug addicts, a university that will take responsibility for evaluating the project's products/results and an educational institution that will train the professionals.
Impact
This project will, by designing a vocational training programme adapted to the needs and special situation of ex-addicts, help facilitate their social and occupational reintegration.
