Self-employment: an expert system for assessment and guidance in social employment initiatives

Objective

The Spanish Confederation of Social Employment Enterprises is currently developing initiatives to help the unemployed enter the job market by creating their own employment and, more specifically, by setting up SMEs or micro-enterprises in the social employment field. The aim of this project is - in this context - to systematise the task of counsellors for the unemployed by setting up an expert system to help them identify and support those people with the greatest potential for creating their own employment.

The partners will identify the best sectors and occupational profiles for developing social employment enterprises and organise the supervision of these individual initiatives with the help of employment development experts. They will then set up and operate an expert system which can be used in employment-creation initiatives. The results of the project will be published in a scientific journal and distributed to the national institutions concerned via conferences and seminars.

Impact
Development of alternative solutions to unemployment through social employment and professionalisation of support for individual initiatives.
