Objective
This project is designed to reduce the gap that exists between the educational system and the world of employment. The aim of the project is to strengthen vocational training with new additional features that are nowadays as important as technical content. The action plan is to develop a complete training programme which will facilitate access to company-based training for young people at educational establishments, especially those who are socially and/or economically disadvantaged with regard to the labour market.
The additional features to be developed include: social skills, job-searching skills, evaluation instruments, orientation guidelines, and supervision plans. It will be possible to implement them at any stage of vocational training, but it is expected that best results will be achieved during the 'practical and educational period' during which young people have a period of work in a company followed by a period at an educational centre. Co-ordination between employers and trainers will be essential for good results. The results of the training programme will be published.
Impact
The results of this project will be well adapted to the specific training needs of young people who have particular difficulties in finding and keeping their jobs.
