Objective
Many young people complete a traineeship in a foreign company during the course of their education. However, such training activities have not been studied in any great detail despite the fact that they can be unsatisfactory due to the extent to which situations vary throughout Europe. This project is designed to help meet the need for a system of methods and quality control for transnational traineeships.
The partners intend, by promoting key social skills, to further the trainee's level of general education during the training programme. The partners will define the steps needed to prepare, supervise and evaluate European training to the satisfaction of all the parties concerned (i.e. trainee, training organisation, company, public authorities), as well as represent all of these players. The project will make use of quality control tools (value analysis, project management, cost control, etc.) as well as educational science. This will result in a methodological analysis of transnational traineeships, the development of a European placement quality-control manual and software to facilitate course monitoring. The project results will apply to all placement and exchange programme for teenagers or young adults. A guide on the value of quality-control tools in setting up a pilot project will also be made available.
Impact
Improved quality of transnational in-company placements resulting from the design of a methods and quality control system for traineeships.
