Youth/company training partnerships

Objective

The aim of this project is to exchange experience of engineering-student traineeships to optimise the training/employment relationship. The partners will pursue the following specific objectives:
- training in-company tutors/mentors. To achieve this goal, the partners will proceed in accordance with the "tutoring/mentoring company" concept. In addition to the designated company tutor, the partners consider that the tutoring/mentoring function should be shared by several people in the company. On this basis, they will attempt to determine how company organisation and management can facilitate the implementation of a tutoring/mentoring policy, as well as
- develop methods to supervise trainees throughout their course,
- evaluate this training.

The survey methodology will comprise a survey audit, reference guide, seminars and study trips. This will lead to the design of a training pack and a dual-purpose company network, i.e. with a bulletin board in training centres for monitoring trainees and a pool listing company placements.

Impact
This project will help assess a company's training potential, improve the quality of the training centre/company partnership and increase the employment prospects of engineering students.
