Lifelong learning for care of the elderly

Objectif

The people of Europe are getting older. Being old causes physical, economic, social and mental dependency, especially for very old people (over 85 years old). Since family support is on the decline and nursing homes are insufficient, it is necessary to create conditions to enable elderly people to remain at home as long as possible. But the biggest problem here is that there are no professionals with the right skills to bring this about. The main goal of this project is therefore to identify what professional skills are needed and to develop an appropriate occupational profile and training.

A comparative survey of health and support systems will be conducted in each participating country/region. A current and future skill needs analysis will also be carried out. Distance learning materials for home carers will be produced.

Impact
This project will contribute to the creation of new companies in the health and social care sector and provide new employment for carers.
