Objective
Developments in social patterns and increasing numbers of elderly people are creating a new demand in domains as varied as healthcare, home-assistance and leisure activities. Educational and social work aimed at young children and teenagers, particularly fringe and para-educational activities, as well as services and family/educational assistance all represent potential sources of proximity employment. The aim of this project is, therefore, to offer people not adequately qualified to carry out such new occupations the opportunity of attending specific training courses to acquire the skills needed to provide quality services.
Following a needs-analysis, a specifically designed training programme not available through the partner regions' educational systems will prepare the trainees for proximity employment. A training management structure will be operational by the end of the project which will facilitate the creation of new jobs. This project intends to set up a training-management and proximity-employment development structure as well as organise information seminars. A reference guide will also be produced to enable the newly developed tools to be transferred to other local districts.
Impact
Creation of new proximity employment.
