Objective
Human resource development is a strategic pre-requirement for entrepreneurship and labour market growth. This is particularly the case in newly developing areas such as computerisation of agriculture, agrotourism, eco-museums, environmental impact evaluation, biological agriculture, green marketing etc. The objective of this project is to develop an innovative model for distance training in the environmentally sustainable agriculture and agrofood industries. The aim is to create a basic structure for human resource development as a pre-condition for business development and the emergence of a new labour market culture.
The model will take account of the need for economic development, environmental protection, local heritage development and youth employment. It will use new multimedia and telematic technologies. The beneficiaries will be teachers and students at agricultural schools, young people wanting to work in or set up a business in the agriculture or agrofood sectors, as well as training professionals and agricultural federations and associations.
Impact
The project will promote ecologically sustainable business creation and will up-grade the skills of workers and employers in the agriculture and agrofood sectors.
