Inter-institutional relationships and the role of the social partners in continuing training

Objective

This project is concerned with the analysis and development of models for relationships between institutions in the field of training. The aim is to promote a strengthening of ties between institutional and social partners and to develop scenarios for the creation of a system that is capable of dealing with new requirements brought about by new technologies and work structures, with a view to fighting social exclusion and promoting the knowledge society. Particular attention will be given by the partners to:
- action by public authorities and agreements between social partners;
- interinstitutional relationships and their impact on training;
- the differences between national experiences;
- concrete practices, through case studies of relevant national experience.

By the end of the project, the partners will have produced reports on national case experience, a joint glossary of terms, hypothetical training plans for decision makers (social partners, local authorities) and other interested parties, and a guide for decision makers. A transnational seminar will be organised in Italy for the presentation of project results.

Impact
The project will serve to clarify the role of various actors, notably the social partners, with regard to the definition of national continuing training policies.
