Objective
Women do not enjoy the same opportunities of access to the labour market as men. Very often, they find it difficult to obtain vocational training or resume work following a career break.
This pilot project aims to assist their social and vocational integration into the local socio-economic fabric. It will provide personalised help for women who want to develop principal or complementary activities, monitor their projects from design through to implementation, and provide assistance until they succeed in their goal. It will also guide them towards specialist training, and enable them to take part in business placements. SEMIRAMIS will tackle traditional themes, increasing participants' knowledge of management techniques and the legal and administrative issues of business. The emphasis will be on know-how, with exclusive communications modules and innovative management and self-knowledge techniques designed for women.
This pilot project will rely on an existing women's support network and a partnership with the local community and key players in local development, such as the regional employment department and the local chambers of commerce. The media will be encouraged to publicise the results of the project, which will be published in paper and electronic media.
Impact
SEMIRAMIS aims to even up the balance of men and women in business, and offer women a greater degree of autonomy in the choice of their future field of activity.
