Project management assessment and certification programme Europe

Objective

The company working environment, especially in the construction, chemicals and information technology industries, is becoming more and more complex, international and competitive. 90% of these changes and developments are implemented using a project management approach. This means that organisations are to a greater extent dependent on the success of their projects. However, recent research shows that the performance of projects suffer in terms of quality. Companies are aware of this and demand highly qualified project management professionals.

The main objective is to develop, test and implement an internationally accepted certification and assessment method for project management, drawing on a European body of knowledge. The partners will then design and develop a marketing plan and a certification programme. They will also set up an accessible database of project management literature, which will include information on state of the art developments in the profession, new technologies and project management courses. This will be an invaluable resource for students, project management professionals and educational institutes. Finally, a 'train the assessor' programme will be designed and developed.

Impact
The partners will work to ensure that the certification method developed by this project is accepted all over the European Union.
