Innovative welcome, orientation and pre-training programmes

Objective

The EURES network has contributed greatly to the mobility of workers across Europe, however it is often used by unqualified people without any social welfare provision. Work involving movement across borders often requires assistance from authorities such as public employment services on the one hand, and trade unions and organisations dealing with vulnerable groups on the other.

This pilot project aims to offer adequate training to the staff of trade union organisations, in addition to front line social-legal, welcome and orientation services. It will also facilitate the creation of a network between these different organisations.

PROMOTRANSMOBILITE will be divided into several phases over a three year period. The first phase will consist of a comparative analysis of good practices within front line organisations and the needs of these organisations' workers and staff in terms of adapting to the demands of a cross-border market. The second phase will involve formulating a training strategy for staff members in charge of welcoming, orienting and pre-training. The third step will be to implement this strategy and to create training modules in various languages. During the fourth phase, the modules will be evaluated and finalised. They will then be made available on the Internet through the EURES network's INFO PLUS system.

Impact
PROMOTRANSMOBILITE will facilitate the use of the necessary tools for opening the job market and for training all categories of workers and unemployed persons for whom cross-border mobility seems like an insurmountable obstacle.
