Objective
The places or resources able to provide the whole range of careers information and advice to adult workers, are currently very widely dispersed, and fairly sparse in number, given the levels of demand. In order to deal with this situation, this project aims to coordinate the careers guidance initiatives currently available and design a service which reflects the specific needs of adults.
The setting up of this operation will call for transnational cooperation and the validation of existing evaluation procedures in each partner country. It will carry out a transnational analysis of the demand from adult workers for careers guidance and that of the provision currently offered by the businesses and structures concerned.
The results will lead to the development of innovative solutions which will be distributed using various products and through seminars: design of a specialist resource centre, special tools and methodologies, a pocket guide for the social partners, a self-training guide, training modules for careers advisers, the creation of information booths and of documentation suitable for adult workers.
Impact
This proposal will help to make access to continuing training easier. Within businesses, the development of effective training and vocational assessment strategies will facilitate the establishment of individual career plans and make training more appropriate to the realities of employment.
