Objective
In Europe, nine out of ten people in the labour force are employed in companies with fewer than 10 employees. According to the European Commissioner with responsibility for SME development, there is a danger that nearly 1.5 million SMEs of this size could go bankrupt before the year 2000. The main reason for this is the problem of succession, when an enterprise's creator retires or dies. The successor, if there is one, is not necessarily equipped with the appropriate skills to ensure the continued survival and growth of the company. There is therefore a considerable need for relevant training in this area.
The specific objective of the project is to design, develop and disseminate training modules on the following topics :
