Objective
This project forms part of the positive action plan for women run by the Basque Country regional authority. The aim is to coordinate the efforts of the public administration with work carried out by the social partners with a view to integrating an equal opportunities dimension into all training, education and employment policies and activities. To this end, the partners will design and develop instruments for vocational centres and occupational training schools to promote equal job opportunities between women and men.
The partners will start with an analysis of current training schemes run by vocational centres and occupational training schools in selected pilot areas. They will then design educational materials and strategies for recruiting female students to non-traditional courses. After discussions with staff from the centres and schools, the materials will be evaluated and reviewed.
Impact
The project will encourage women who have abandoned the educational system to take part in new training schemes. It will encourage occupational diversification, eliminate sex discrimination in employment, and promote the elimination of gender stereotypes in the labour market.
