Objective
University and pre-professional mobility for students is an essential factor in the building of Europe. As a contribution to this, the pilot project E-Campus will design, test and validate a realistic experiment on an Internet telematic platform. This will allow access to innovative educational and pre-professional European training resources. It will also facilitate the transition from traditional university training to the future professional life of the student with advice, information and a constant dialogue between European universities and enterprises.
The initial version of the pilot project will be organised around eleven themes. It will be made available either through a summary or a regularly updated electronic magazine. For example, E-Campus will allow European universities and colleges to introduce and promote themselves on their Internet sites. It will broadcast job and placement offers made by large European enterprises; interviews with their president and human resource director; European partner search information for student projects; or information on culture, sports and leisure. The contents of the Internet server will be tested on a group of users through on-line questionnaires. The results will be listed on the site, for example through virtual discussion forums.
Impact
E-CAMPUS will help young people learn how to become European citizens and how to join the university and economic life of Europe.
