Objective
Finland is the world leader in forestry and the European leader in the wooden house construction. The GATTEBOIS pilot project aims to encourage technical exchanges between production staff in the wood and wood derivatives industry and cross-border mobility for staff. Participants include Finland, the Lorraine region, the leading French region in wood, and Italy, a major furniture producer.
The GATTEGNO educational approach will show trainees that their real learning capacities are generally underestimated, particularly when it comes to learning languages. This pilot project will work on adjusting the GATTEGNO method to the Finnish language and on involving three groups of learners in two countries: a group of Frenchmen and Italians will learn Finnish, a second group of Frenchmen and Finns will learn Italian, and finally, a group of Italians and Finns will learn French. This type of composition will enrich the personnel and embrace the cultural diversity of the group.
The GATTEBOIS results will be formalised in the form of a general report and of specific evaluation charts for participants and groups, and distributed through media channels, such as thematic television stations.
Impact
In the medium term, GATTEBOIS will implement a GATTEGNO European network of trainers and will create a simple language glossary to enable users to understand the other languages rapidly.
