Quality audit guide for language training

Objective

It is becoming increasingly important to learn Community languages. This pilot project aims to create a practical, coherent, easily-accessible guide for the target public i.e. trainers, teachers, vocational training decision-makers and learners. This guide will give actors the chance to evaluate and choose existing approaches and educational materials, or to design new motivating and efficient training tools in the area of language.

LINGUAUDIT will have three stages. The first stage will produce the concept and model of the guide. The second phase will systematically and thoroughly test the pilot version of the guide to ensure its relevance make sure that it provides a good balance between questioning, criteria and quality indicators of expert committees and potential users. During this time, the final version of the quality guide will be validated. The specifications will be established and a prototype in French and in English will be placed on CD-ROM. The third stage will be to distribute the results of the work during a conference in Paris and to send out the final version of the CD-ROM after it has been tested on four double user groups. Some 2000 copies of the CD-ROM will be produced.

Impact
LINGUAUDIT will modify educational practices and habits in terms of language study and will provide training actors with a practical and efficient methodological tool that will help them in decision-making.
