Objective
The municipality of Chenôve, which has an exceptionally high unemployment rate, has introduced a social and tax regime that gives enterprises beneficial subsidies to encourage the maintenance and creation of activities. As these social and economic difficulties are common to certain other European Union Member States, Chenôve has made contact with European partners for this pilot project to find the best solutions for such problems and to deal with national situations.
SYNERGIE is a three phase project. The first phase will consist mainly of an economic approach that underlines the expectations of enterprises. The unemployment rate is high, yet corporate managers are having difficulties in recruiting. The second phase will concentrate more on a social approach, proposing people in search of employment who are likely to correspond to the job description of the vacant position. The third phase will be to adapt the training system in light of the description of the position chosen and the candidate's skills and demands. This could involve the acquisition of skills such as mastering interviews, organisational abilities, technical know-how or familiarity with the enterprise.
Throughout the duration of the pilot project, the local and regional press will publish the results obtained which will counter exclusion, unemployment and uncertainty.
Impact
SYNERGIE will improve conditions for restoring activities in the most disadvantaged areas of the Chenôve empowerment zone.
