A link between universities and enterprises

Objective

There is often a wide gap between the enterprises and universities. In each of its years of operation, this pilot project will give 50 young graduates their first regular vocational experience, acquired through missions. Each young participant will begin by taking a training course called "knowing the enterprise" in which their expectations, desires and skills are compared with proposals for vocational in-plant mission proposals lasting between four and six months. Two specific characteristics mark these proposals. Firstly, the young graduate must return to the university one day a month for active job-search sessions. Secondly, the graduate will benefit from a proper follow-up throughout the in-company mission.

For the project, six work groups and a steering committee will be created. The first work group will organise TRAIT D'UNION and determine the functions, roles and means available. The second work group will deal with in-company reception and administration for the young graduates. The third work group will make a list of skills necessary to transfer the notion of university knowledge to that of company know-how. The fourth work group, called "Mission Prospects", will canvass enterprises to find missions for young graduates. The fifth work group will propose specific strategies for recruiting candidates for the chosen missions and will help enhance female applications. The sixth group will run all transnational exchanges in terms of the transferability of know-how and experience.

Impact
TRAIT D'UNION will help reach a better balance between university teaching and enterprise demands.
