Certification of skills in the building sector

Objective

To facilitate vocational integration, the mobility of workers in the European building sector is essential. As such, it is of utmost importance to define core skills in the sector. This pilot project has two objectives. It will determine the premises of quality for a training centre in the building sector, and will certify the skills acquired by trainers through exchanging experiences, and those acquired by young people in training on European construction sites or in construction schools.

The six COMBAT partner countries will meet to examine the modes of skill certification by analysing the materials that have been jointly produced in recent European training activities.

Results will be made available on paper and on CD-ROM, and will be translated into six Community languages. Each partner will mobilise their own networks to distribute these results on a large scale.

Impact
Through this pilot project, construction workers will increase their chances of finding a job.
