Objective
The aim of this project is to pilot the European College Network for the integrated delivery of training modules across four EU Member States. The European College model builds on the findings of a current trainer exchange project, and will initially be focused on the polymer sector.
The partners will develop and test training modules based on the expertise of each partner, using multi-media approaches to training including distance learning via electronic networks. The modules will be piloted in partnership with industrial partners and validated in each of the partner states. The themes of the three modules will be : recycling of polymer based materials; injection mould design and manufacture; and European culture, industrial organisation and practice. Once the model has been tested using materials for the polymer sector, the European College can be extended to other areas of training and support.
Impact
The modules will be designed to meet both the training requirements of companies for a world class workforce skilled in current industrial processes and techniques, and the needs of young people to acquire the skills necessary to enter the workforce and compete in the European labour market.
